One idea is to change the hold of e
this is maybe simpler than chords, but it requires to not linger around on the e key while normal typing. Maybe you should just make chord on e and space with a short timeout and test if you really ever activate it during normal typing. |

Hello - completely new to kanata. found kmonad a few days ago. I want to have a single layer key that enables various layers while pressed, so depending on another that was pressed with it just before or the same time it was pressed, for example if the layer key was the space bar, then e+space could toggle an editing layer, while n+space could toggle a numeric keypad layer, and the layer would be active while space (alone) held down. is that possible? I read about input chords and it seems close, although I would probably want space + e to still produce space + e if typed quickly in that order. The reason for that is to facilitate touch typing where the layer key positions of the fingers can become most familiar, in relation to the layer key, and to minimise movements. thanks for any insights,
Harvey
