Is there a way to type a character on key release only if I didn't type any other key?

Something like sending the tab key only if I type it (key press) and release (key release) without typing any other key. Then I'd make the tab key be a layer-while-held action as well. It's been a while since I've played with kanata, and I couldn't find a straightforward way to do it. Is there a way and I've just not realized it?

(tap-hold-press 200 200 tab (layer-while-held some_layer)) - I use this one personally for exactly the same functionality as you described

An interesting variant that might behave more how you desire is tap-hold-except-keys.
