Plans to release package?

This tool is great. Are there any plans to make a package so that it is easier to automate with ansible/chef/puppet/salt?

Currently you need to install

• ruby
• ruby-dev
• gcc
• g++

And then create your own init script.

It would be really nice if a package was made and it was hosted on packagecloud.io so that it would be easy to push out this tool to mulitiple datacenters using a configuration managment tool.

Here are a couple of tools that would make this super easy.

• fpm - creates a .rpm / .deb package from scratch
• pleaserun - creates an init script
• packagecloud.io - hosts packages

Thanks for the suggestion and pointers. As you can see, I'm not actively maintaining this project as my interest in Redis diminished. If anyone is interested in taking the initiative in packaging it, I'd be glad to help. Please note that I won't be available for the rest of November due to vacation.

It's not that we don't use Redis, it's just that I'm no longer responsible for the operation of Redis at work.
