Since this is more of a frontend component than a node module, Bower support would make more sense than NPM.

Since Bower is using GitHub anyway, this still worked fine for me even without the bower.json:

bower install jxnblk/fitter-happier-text

It’s possible I’m misunderstanding something though. After npm’s support for front end modules, I think that sticking with just a package.json is a fine, but I understand that doesn’t work for everyone.
