Each user should have their own (view?) of the target board root filesystem available over NFS.

For space optimisation, this could be handled with overlays so that each user gets a user specific location as overlay - though that limits what root might be used. (could 'nix' provide anything nice for layers here?)

https://github.com/containers/composefs is an interesting project for this too I think.
