Since taskwarrior 3.0, taskchampion is the backend for taskwarrior. taskchampion is written in rust and can probably be used directly in taskwarrior-tui.

This is a tracking issue for this feature.

Additionally it may contain some futures that could replace some of the task calls that have accumulated, simplifying the codebase.
