Version 4.1.1
* b_bbs: Removed message generated when a message isn't found during
a forwarding run. The message is just skipped, try again next
time.
* b_bbs: There was a problem with displaying routing headers when they
had been corrupted. The code does an index() call to locate the
'@' identifying the bbs call. If it wasn't present the bbs
looped, forgot to go to the next line :(
* b_gateway: For some reason, yet to be determined, when certain messages
bounce there is no To: field defined. This should be picked up from
the From: line in the original message. So far this only seems to
occur on messages from unregistered users. For now I have fixed this
by looking for no To: address and then sending it to "postmaster"
instead. Maybe I can spot a correlation and fix it right later.
Version 4.1.0
* Daa I forgot.
Version 4.0.13
* Purified portions of the code. Found some memory leaks in the
textline_free() routine.
* Changed WX definitions so that the weather functions can find the
weather files. Mt. Umunuhum weather is now available to all our
bbss via another process. This process will be in the next release.
* Altered mechanism of /CC command to abort when a /EX command is
received as a recipient.
* Better evaluation of the TO field when parsing a send command. Should
stop that problem with garbage in the headers when an @ is not provided.
Version 4.0.12
* Found the reason that some tncd processes were hanging. It had
to do with a race condition between a forward process, bbsd and
an incoming connection from packet.
When a forward process attempts to connect to another bbs via
tncd it first checks to see if the bbs is currently connected. This
is done via a bbsd. Seeing nothing it issues a connect request
via the tncd control port. The problem occurs when the bbs is
indeed connected but tncd has not informed bbsd yet. This caused
a real problem in the ax_mbx module. I added an additional
check to the tncd process to do another check just prior to
allocating the structures.
* When a forward process is running it is no longer logged in as
user FWD but rather the bbs that is being forwarded to at the time.
* Created a second parser to be used when receiving messages from
another bbs. The user parser searches for tokens allowing the user
to input things in any order. When tokens appear in fields
problems arise. Such as "SP AB$CD @ N0ARY" where the user would
assume we were defining a BID of "CD". The bbs mode parser must
have send command structured as defined in the BBS spec.
* Added -u option to bbs code. Allows entry straight to sysop mode.
This is used as part of the tcpd code.
* Stop the problem with replicating SIDs when forwarding to multiple
bbs' via the same port.
* The gateway process now checks to see if the homebbs for a user
is known prior to accepting the message. If the home bbs is
needed the gateway will bounce the message.
* Did some work on the socket_read commands to not be so verbose
with the socket timeout messages. Also found a bug that may have
been causing the duplicate lines in the message body problem.
Version 4.0.11 9/3/94
* Fixed problem with reading system file. Blanks appended to PORT
variable would cause mismatch in system scan. Also lengthened
the max line length in the system file to 256 characters, was
80.
* Changed msg_send(), msg_send_dist() and msg_reply() to msg_snd(),
msg_snd_dist() and msg_rply() so as not to conflict with system
libs.
* Added the ability to chain to other daemons and systems from
inside tcpd. For instance from inside tcpd you can jump to
msgd by typing "msgd". Typing "exit" will return you to tcpd
again. You can leap to another bbs by specifying the host, such
as, "tcpd lbc.com" which will connect you to the tcpd daemon
on Pat's machine. All daemons id now with the bbs version and
call of the bbs.
* Added SID matching to Systems file. This allows the sysop to
supply a SID that is expected from the remote system. If the
SID is does not match, regular expression supported, the
forwarding session is aborted.
N6QMY
SID "[ARY-.*-H\$]"
WB0TAX
SID "[FBB-5.15-AB1FHMR\$]"
Remember to escape the '$'.
The reason this was added was because of problems with doing
tcp connections. Working your way through logging into a remote
system can falsely indicate success. Since you cannot put the
SID in the chat script (RECV) because it needs to be parsed
this method was used.
* Added regular expression support to RECV fields in chat script.
Version 4.0.10 9/2/94
* Made tcpd make it's socket blocking before spawning bbs process.
Version 4.0.9 9/2/94
* Implemented tcpd to allow bbs entry from network socket.
* Added BBS_VERSION to automatic bug reporting and removed copy sent
to root.
* Added bug report and automatic hold when a message is being
forwarded to a bbs that doesn't support BIDs and MIDs. This isn't
a problem but it shouldn't occur in my lan. This check was added
because I generated a batch of dups earlier this week and
cannot figure out why.
* Added bid to R: line.
* Connie identifed the memory leak in b_tool and fixed it. Also
added hostname to list title bars. Makes it easier to keep track
of the bbs when monitoring multiple bbs'.
* Added message type and status statistics to the msgd STAT command.
* Changed socket_watch to only watch a single socket rather than
all socket activity. This is still enabled via #if in the source.
* Fixed the b_bbs WRITE command, was creating zero length files.
Version 4.0.8 8/31/94
* Added ability to provide a timeout value in the RECV chat lines of
the Systems file. Pat was having a problem where the 60 second
timeout on RECV was not enough.
Version 4.0.7 8/29/94
* Fixed bug that caused REPLYs to old bulletins to take on the date
of the old bulletin temporarily. Pat saw this because he holds old
bulletins with this Translate entry:
+14: !HOLD
The result was that REPLYs would be held but following the scan of
the Translate file the date would be set correctly.
* Added "DELAY seconds" to chat script in Systems file. This allows
the sysop to stipulate a delay between two SEND commands when no
RECV string is anticipated.
* Modified the way version is kept. Added a new file called version.h
that contains just the bbs version string.
Version 4.0.6 8/28/94
* Initial release to KB6MER and N6QMY.
