Usecases

  • UC-1. A child wants to play background music from a computer while working.
  • UC-2. Adult wants to intervene the child's playing sound withOUT directly interactiving with the child's computer. Just lowering the output volume to zero is the minimum.
  • UC-3. I/Adult want to play sound from my computers (multiple) without cables or any physical connections swap.
  • UC-4. For adult computer, only a single source should play at a time for now (i.e. no usecase to play from multiple sources at a time is not intended).
  • UC-5. Both children and adult should be able to select the output device e.g. speakers / headset, without un/plugging cables nor wireless connections (e.g. Bluetooth), i.e. switch b/w the output device must be done only by a simply one click/toggle.

Requirements (subject to update) based on the suggested usecases:

  • Multiple separate speakers
  • Switching mechanism per each speakers.
  • (For adult) switching mechanism for input devices/sources.
  • From an adult's computer, modify the output volume of the child's output device. Ideally via Home Assistant.
