The first latexification can sometimes take way too long. I've seen "vanilla" latexify calls take 3 seconds and I've seen some latexify recipes take a full minute to compile. Runtime is usually really fast though.

I'm not sure where this comes from. One suspect is the apply_recipe function that latexify recipes generate.
