What happened:
Hi, I have deployed KSM in eks cluster where prom server collects a metric kube_node_deletion_timestamp{} . But upon checking i found that deletion timestamp is available for only very few nodes but others are missing.
For instance in last 1h there are 17 nodes created, all 17 of em are not running which i confirmed from kubectl get node. Only for 11 nodes im seeing kube_node_deletion_timestamp{} . Any idea on this behaviour?

  • kube-state-metrics version: v2.10
  • Kubernetes version (use kubectl version): v1.31
  • Cloud provider or hardware configuration: EKS
