ロゴの元画像の縦横比が1:1ではないのでそのままfaviconに利用すると潰れる．

元画像
回転して縦横比1:1
大きい方(横)に合わせて1:1

2番目は回転させるためページ内のロゴと統一感がない．
3番目はfaviconが少し小さい気がする．

3番目を手元でもやった．
問題は2つ

サイズが小さすぎる
輝度が高すぎて白背景と相性が悪い
