System

Android (reproduced on Retroid Pocket 2+, RG451M, RP3 and RP4)

Game Information

Region: NTSC-U (US)
Format: CHD

Build version

1.7.4 5355eae

Description

The game starts normally: it loads and the intro is played normally. Then, when starting a game or waiting for the demo, the screen goes black right after the "Loading" screen and the emulator seems stuck in a loop.

Other

  • I do not have this problem with Libretro Picodrive.
  • All emulation hacks are disabled.

Same problem here on Windows 11.
Retroarch 1.19.1

It's been getting worse recently: now the game doesn't even start. It bootloops right after the "Sega" boot logo. This seems to affect all Core Design SegaCD games. Maybe related to ekeeke#560 ?

I think it's the same problem, or very similar.
Wolfchild freezes on the Sega logo, but if you wait longer or use the fast forward option in Retroarch you can hear the game music. Exactly the same as Chuck Rock.
You wrote that version 7de0f0b solves the problem. Unfortunately it doesn't for me on Windows 11.

I've made a mistake (I was using the wrong core, actually). Now it is even worse with the latest commit (libretro): it boot loops after the "Sega" boot load screen. I can't even get it to start, at least on Android.
