On Ubuntu 24.04.01 LTS with python3.10.16, installation fails when building wheels for asciitree, which is required by pyproject.toml. For the moment, the problem can be fixed by setting the environment variable SETUPTOOLS_USE_DISTUTILS=stdlib prior to installation. Sadly, I cannot reproduce the problem now that the installation has succeeded once.
We need to further investigate why this is necessary and to update our readme accordingly.
