Changing APP_URL in .env file Breaks Search Bar

I am currently running Heimdall behind a r proxy and everything is functioning perfectly except the search function. When I change the APP_URL variable in the .env file so the r proxy works after clicking on a tag or app inside Heimdall, the search feature stops functioning. When I type something int he search bar and press enter or click search, a new tab opens but its the dashboard page not the search engine page. Any thoughts?
