Been using espa.order for a few weeks but now getting an error when trying to use it:
simplejson.errors.JSONDecodeError: Expecting value: line 1 column 1 (char 0) at:

response is status code 301 so guess they have made the switch!

does this mean this package is deprecated? I tried to use the USGS class search method but it fails.

For now it's temporarily broken, not deprecated. Thanks for the reminder; I have to think how the package can evolve following the recent USGS changes (API change) and surface reflectance data now directly downloadable from earthexplorer rendering the Espa ordering part obsolete https://www.usgs.gov/news/usgs-releases-most-advanced-landsat-archive-date

A start could be to use an endpoint such as https://m2m.cr.usgs.gov/api/api/json/stable/dataset-search (need credentials) instead of this one https://github.com/loicdtx/lsru/blob/master/lsru/__init__.py#L132
