We will take the lowest/finest level of spatial scale, even if its pseudoreplication (e.g., plots inside one cage) but then we will make decisions later to average across cages or analyze at a larger scale.

We are not using spatial.scale.1, spatial.scale.2, etc. In the caged_data-key google sheet we are describing all spatial and pseudoreplication scales as exp.design.1, exp.design.2, etc. with the lowest experimental design scale being level 1
