1.0 roadmap

Hi ya!

The core library has been relatively stable so I'm thinking about planning and preparing for version 1.0. I'd like to start developing right now but I unfortunately can't commit a lot of time just this moment. Development for these should start around March 2023. In the meantime, I'd like to hear your thoughts on how these features should be implemented, or what other things you'd like to be implemented.

Planned features

• Support multiple providers Planning for 1.0: Support multiple providers per user #269
• User tokens Planning for 1.0: Tokens #270
• Set up CLI (Discussions Quick start CLI #225, PR: Implement CLI #228)
• Support MySQL and SQLite for Kysely adapter [Feature Request]: Support MySQL and SQLite (Kysely adapter) #271

Other planned stuff

• Rewrite the docs code
• Create video tutorials

Post 1.0

• Support SolidStart [Feature Request]: Support SolidStart #204
• Support Remix
• (Maybe support Nuxt)

While I would like to see them, I am unsure if adding support for multiple frameworks (SolidStart, Remix, Nuxt ...) is strictly necessary for a v1.0. I think of them as should-haves instead of must-haves. A video tutorial is probably more helpful in the short term. If we want to include additional frameworks to grow our user base maybe it would be smart to focus on frameworks that currently don't have a nice authentication lib in their ecosystem. For E.g. focus on SolidStart instead of Next.

As a little treat, maybe switch to a custom domain for v1.0? lucia-auth.dev or lucia-auth.io are still up for grabs.
