The Widget is quite huge! An option to change the size would be nice.

Well I guess it's possible to have app a bit smaller. Can you take a screenshot of existing app and draw how big you want app to be ? (draw on existing so it would be easier to understand scale).
Resizing to very small is also possible, but buttons would become very small, so layout would change too.

I quickly adjusted the layout to my need see here

so that it fit into my taskbar:

A slider on the settings screen with a minimum size, like those already used for opacity, would probably be a good solution (ui wise) to quickly and easily change the size.

Hmm, googled a bit about task bar, it seems that it's possible to create custom toolbars. Maybe it would be possible to put YAPA inside.

I will just put this link here for future reference, will look more into that later: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/cc144099(v=vs.85).aspx

For me it's not necessary to have it in/on the task bar, just put it there bexause there was free space left.
Generally I just wanted it to be a bit smaller (at least half the size).
