I've had a lot of requests for this, and I'm not entirely against it, but I've just been putting it off because of the amount of work involved and all the other stuff needing to get done. Whether or not I'd have a full-featured generic MIDI API built into miniaudio.h, I don't know, but it would be nice to be able to initialize a decoder or a data source of some kind and just play it. So it's not off the table, but certainly won't be happening for a quite a while. |

I know it's called miniAUDIO library for a reason, and since MIDI is basically just notation data with some additional parameters, and SoundFonts just containers for audio files with some added overhead like loop points etc., I understand if it's not a priority or even on the agenda, but I just thought I'd give my two cents on it as I think it would absolutely supercharge the musical capabilities of this library to 11, especially when you are looking demolish the installation size without having to give up the ability to make an extensive soundtrack. It would also be very useful for making rhythm / music games, but I guess that would also require ASIO support for a proper low latency mode, but that's a whole other potato.
