For errors and other events, it's a good idea to have a notification that shows up in the app.
This can also help power reminders on deadlines in the future.

It can also help to have different kinds of notifications just like warnings.

  • informative notification
  • warning notification
  • error notification
  • reminders

Also consider having links inside notifications that could take the user to the target
