Risk Statement:

If the instrument temperature changes rapidly, locally or globally, then air flowing through the instrument can become turbulent, introducing seeing.

Risk Effects:

Turbulent air motion needs to be measured and corrected by the wavefront sensing system. This adds to the complexity and magnitude of corrections.
