Not incorrect but can result in incorrect sound considering audio DAC's are different between boards, it's a feature that would benefit a lot of games in terms of audio quality.
Expected behaviour
Just like how we have basic picture settings in MAME's UI, I'd love to see basic EQ become an option.
With the actual machines you had so many different speaker configurations and models, setting per game EQ would be a massive benefit to all those games that naturally sound too boomy or shrill. As it is right now users have to resort to external programs or audio hardware and tweak those each time a different game is launched.
Some games benefit from adjusting EQ to lowpass filter for example.
Parametric EQ sliders would be a godsend and help users adjust their game EQ to sound closer to the original hardware, or better even in cases where they were bad.
