Excessive Permissions for Google Drive

Could you detail and explain why this script is requesting so much access and varying types of permissions from google drive?

This script seems like it could be accomplished with far less invasiveness

“invasiveness” is a good word ;-)
There always seems to be a part of gambling involved when giving permissions to a script.
Even with the most comforting language and fanciest policies, you cannot know who might look at your data.
The Drive is great; thank you for the script.
