Group Guild Mapping

Just as you can join a matrix room and have it be bridged to a Discord room, would be cool if you could join a group with a special format and have a group be created with rooms linked to each channel in the Discord Server.

So users can be mapped into guilds, and those guilds can have roles.

So as far as I can tell the users can be part of two communities:

• guild
• (guild+role) * roles users is in

Is there any other groupings you can have in Discord?

Users can be assigned more than one role in Discord.

Would defining an existing group to have it add members to be possible? This issue seems to indicate that the APIs for granting the bot admin privileges to an existing group may not be implemented yet...

There aren't any defined APIs for groups yet in the spec, so we've not been able to implement it for the bridge.

Is this the same as Server(Discord) to Community(Matrix) mapping for those of us only familiar with those terms?
