I didn't realize that a normal USB controller config isn't available. Is there any plan to provide a normal 10 button usb controller config, perhaps?

The Xbox 360 (USB) option during setup is a pretty basic setup that controllers, such as my Logitech Chillstream emulate and work with. I actually had 2 personal holiday work days to burn, so tomorrow and Friday I have plenty of time if you have a controller model that falls outside of that. I can work up a USB config set for that controller. Since I work with the applications packages themselves, not an API like Retroplayer is trying to implement, I have to use the actual controllers to make the configurations and to test them effectively.

What make and model of controller do you have? We are always looking for donations/lending of controllers to implement other control sets. Otherwise, they controls can be set manually in each emulator. If you need things for the holidays soon, I am willing to work with you over IRC/Google Hangouts/Skype to configure the controls. Once fully setup, you can create an archive of the .retrorig folder if you wish to share the work for others to use.

If the Xbox 360 USB option during setup/settings does not properly display/control your gamepad (load jstest-gtk to test it), I may* be able to note some arguments you can place in the xboxdrv init service and subsequently, the defaults control file for the service.

Gravis GamePad Pro USB. D-pad, four face buttons, four shoulder buttons, select, start. 10 button standard USB controller. I'll try the setup with the 360 USB setup and see if it works, though.

Tried the XBOX 360 USB setting, no luck. I'm going to set this project aside for now, opting to install emulationstation manually instead. It's possible that I'll give this a try on my 64 bit mini-itx install with a "zero delay USB encoder" for arcade controls.
