We are happy to announce a new bugfix release!

In this release, we’ve made improvements to the backend, fixing bugs in the cache that might prevent workflow runs from completing.

For AKS clusters, we’ve changed the default CosmosDB deployment to Serverless, which should reduce the costs of operating FarmVibes clusters. This change will force a redeploy of the CosmosDB instance, so we encourage you to backup before updating.

Now, to update your existing clusters, if you cloned the repo, do a

git pull

to update your local copy. Then, you will have to update (or install) the vibe_core library, with

pip install ./src/vibe_core

Finally, you can upgrade your cluster by running

farmvibes-ai local update

Here's a summary of the changes from the last pull request:

Backend

• [⚒️ FIX] We fixed an issue when retrieving task outputs from the cache, which was often seen when running multiple workflows or subtasks simultaneously. This fixes Cache Retrieval Error in Workflow: Maximum Recursion Depth Exceeded #121.
• [📈 IMPROVEMENT] We implemented auto-scalable/serverless CosmosDB deployments to our AKS/remote cluster. Unfortunately, this change will result in data loss, because terraform will delete any previously existing clusters. During setup, the user is prompted to approve the change.

Workflows

• [🎉 NEW] We created a new workflow farm_ai/segmentation/segment_s2 that downloads Sentinel-2 rasters for a geometry and time range of interest, and uses the Segment Anything Model (SAM) to segment a region of interest prompted by the user.
• [📈 IMPROVEMENT] We extended the SAM workflow ml/segment_anything/prompt_segmentation (previously called ml/segment_anything/point_segmentation) to receive bounding boxes as prompts, handling interactions between points, bounding boxes, and chips for better segmentation results. For more details about the workflow behavior, refer to the SAM section of our Troubleshooting documentation pages.
• [📈 IMPROVEMENT] We refactored some of our ONNX processing operations, improving memory usage and fixing an issue that caused the output raster to not match the input geometry. This fixes Output raster of Crop Cycle notebook does not match input geometry #126.
