I have a concern regarding the potential violation of MCP-Reborn's License in this repository. Below are the terms of the MCP-Reborn License for reference:

License and terms of use.
=========================

No warranties. If MCP does not work for you, or causes any damage, it's your problem. Use it at own risk.

You are allowed to:
- Use MCP to decompile the Minecraft client and server jar files.
- Use the decompiled source code to create mods for Minecraft.
- Recompile modified versions of Minecraft.
- Reobfuscate the classes of your mod for Minecraft.

You are NOT allowed to:
- Use MCP to do anything that violated Mojangs terms of use for Minecraft.
- Release Minecraft versions or modifications that allow you to play without having bought Minecraft from Mojang.
- Release modified or unmodified versions of MCP anywhere.
- Use any of MCPs scripts, tools or data files without explicit written permission.
- Make money with anything based on MCP (excluding Minecraft mods created by using MCP).
- Use MCP to create clients that are used for griefing or exploiting server bugs.
- Release the decompiled source code of Minecraft in any way.

Could you please verify if the repository's usage of MCP-Reborn adheres to these terms?

Thank you!

Could you please clarify where you think the potential violation is occurring?

Thanks for bringing this up, @stephmilani! I noticed that MineRL lets users interact with Minecraft directly, even without buying the game. Could this be an issue with the MCP-Reborn license, which prohibits anything that lets you play without purchasing Minecraft from Mojang? Also, are there any MCP-Reborn scripts, tools, or data files being used here?

I’m interested in building a Minecraft environment with MineRL, so I’d really appreciate it if these concerns could be cleared up. Thanks!

Hey @muzhancun ! Sorry for the long response, been on holidays.

Regarding your question:

  • We are not legal people, they should seek proper legal counsel for legal concerns.
  • In its current form, you can not play Minecraft directly as a human player with via this MineRL, as the modifications destroy its usual usage as a game.
  • There is no MCP-Reborn code in the repo. It only clones the publicly available repo and runs its commands to create the modified Minecraft for AI training purposes
