What can I do to get this to work on ipad safari?

In Safari on iPad it only lets me select one word at a time.

I also have similar issue on ios 9 ipad , the longtouch callout display in hindered and only one word is selected. Cannot drag the select handles. Works fine in ios 8. Tried with the demo link on ipad safari and the problem exists there too
