Here are a list of things that you should change for the next version of the thesis:

  1. Change the title of the chapters to exactly match the published papers
  2. Add a footnote to the abstract or the title indicating where the chapter has been published
  3. Each chapter should have its own conclusion section, just like the papers
  4. Abstracts should have no section number
  5. The last chapter needs to be expanded significantly. More on this later

Make sure all tables and figures fit within the page width limits.

Add Preface (it is common to have a Preface in PhD dissertations in which the PhD candidate thanks various people who helped them to obtain a PhD degree).

"1This chapter appeared at the following reference: [73]"

Footnotes of chapters should contain the full venue name where the chapter was published.

Where you list publications in the contributions, expand all the conference/journal acronyms to the full name. There is no space limitation in a PhD dissertation.

Where there are multiple papers published for a chapter, use nested listings to properly format the papers.

Chapter/section titles need to be properly broken (see for example the title of Chapter 3 where the title is broken off on Ap- of Applications

For footnote references of publications, only mention the most recent publication which the chapter is based on. For example, for chapter 3, it would be only TSE (do not list all papers there)
