Users who are synchronized via OAuth2 are not automatically assigned to a cohort

We synchronize our users via OAuth2 with a Microsoft Azure AD. By default, all users are assigned a profile field “Organization” with a default value and should be assigned to a cohort based on this value. Unfortunately, these users are not recognized by the plugin, but are only assigned to the cohort once the user has been manually saved once via the admin interface.

How can I ensure that users that are automatically created via OAuth2 are also automatically assigned to the cohort?
