I have a SAA2 version. Recently it stopped generating any signal above 140MHz. Took me a long time to figure this out.

vna

I am not sure if this issue occured after a firmware update.

Now, in code, I see that ADF4350 is used to generate signals above 140MHz, and Si5351 is used below it.

I also see that there is a code to power down adf4350 below 140MHz.

This is essentially a request to help for debug. two parts:

  1. is there a known issue in keeping adf4350 powered up even when required freq is below 137/140MHz? Can I keep it powered up always wiithout negatively affecting measurements?

  2. Is there a way to identify if I've shot adf430?

Have you found the issue?

I rebuilt fw from sources and modified 140mHz to other numbers, and found that Si is generating signal, but ad is not.

I am not sure what went wrong, I dont have equipment to debuf rf hardware, but i do suspect hardware issue.
I then bought another identical piece.

I have tested and the faulty hw still works fine within limits of low freq chip, so I haven't tossed it..

thank you. Can also be the MXD8641 switch. During the upgrade something went wrong and now I need to change the gd32f303 :(
