Redundant Taps on Same Image Fails (Unless Scrolling First)

First of all, this looks great. Would be nice to be able to "close" with a swipe gesture rather than having to tap the close button, but still very nice.

I did find a bug though. When I tap an image, then close, then tap the same image again, it doesn't open the second time. If I scroll the page, I can tap that same image and it will work again. But until I scroll, redundant taps on the same image fail.

I'm using Expo on Android Moto Z
