Stardew Valley 1.5 Min-Max Guide

Introduction

This guide is inspired by Zamiell's guide, which itself is inspired by several other sources. However, I was not happy with how the guide is laid out, the presentation of each day's tasks, and the overall thoroughness. After running Year 1 Spring over and over again, making many mistakes, and taking voluminous notes, I decided to write my own guide. My hope is that you will avoid many of the mistakes I made and thus have a more enjoyable experience.

Spreadsheet

I created a spreadsheet in LibreOffice Calc that I use to easily calculate many things--everything from what I need to ship to reach G targets to how many Ore I need to find to craft enough Bars. The spreadsheet automates item information in several places.

Crop planning

The guide occasionally includes links to specific crop plans generated in the amazing Stardew Planner tool. These plans are invaluable for quickly knowing where exactly to till or place Sprinklers and Scarecrows. Mixed Seeds are depicted by a generic crop icon.

General strategies

Refer to the following guides for general strategies that are not day-specific:

Run overview

  1. Fish for maximum G income
  2. Upgrade the Pickaxe to the Gold Pickaxe as soon as possible
  3. Unlock Skull Cavern as soon as possible
  4. Once Skull Cavern is unlocked, smelt and sell Iridium Bars for maximum G income
  5. During Summer, Year 1, harvest three crops of Starfruit grown with Deluxe Speed-Gro and watered with Quality Sprinklers
  6. During Fall, Year 1, harvest three crops of Pumpkin grown with Deluxe Speed-Gro and watered preferably with Iridium Sprinklers
  7. Complete all Community Center Bundles as soon as possible
