Emerging actions from HTAN Data Model retrospective in August 2024:

• Establish a Clear Strategy and Architecture: Revisiting the overall architecture and establishing a clear strategy and style for the data model can significantly improve consistency and usability. A guidebook or manual for the HTAN Data Model would help onboard new DCC members and maintain uniform practices.
• Enhanced Documentation: Improving and expanding documentation will support better understanding, consistency, and onboarding across the team.
• Consistent Valid Values and Mapping: Standardizing valid values and mapping across the data model will reduce errors and improve data quality. Implementing a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for valid value management would further support this goal.

This may be the next step following the initial design doc outlining in #464
