Cores not installing on Mac

Describe the bug
When attempting to install a core using the mac application, (running 12.0.1) the application window grays out after selecting "install core" and must be restarted to continue use.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behaviour:

1. Go to Cores
2. Click on any core
3. Click on install
4. Application window is grayed out, no longer reponsive.

This error occurred before installing any cores.

Expected behaviour
A clear and concise description of what you expected to happen.
