I attempted to check out using Apple Pay and though it let me complete the Apple Pay steps, I got a (double string) error popup "You already have a ticket for Winter Boffer Con 2024, You already have a ticket for Winter Boffer Con 2024." (Kind of cute) and no confirmation that I was charged any amount (not cute).
At that point as an attendee attempting an online payment, I'm in an uncomfortable ambiguous state.
Looking at my credit card activity, it looks like the charge did actually go through, with both cart items being charged together (the registration item and the donation item).
Then I saw (on my card activity) I did indeed already pay for my WBC'24 registration on 10/11/24 so the error message kind of makes sense but it's ambiguous in terms of whether and what I was charged.
It would obviously be better if I got it before I got charged, but if not that at least better if I got notified that the charge went through, despite the error.
from Dave:
Stripe had a record of the transaction, but the Intercode DB did not.
