How to reproduce:
Migrate this spatialite to the latest schema version: empty.zip
QGIS knows of most layers what the geometry type is. However, some layers have geometry type Unknown and are therefore treated as tables (without geometry):
Cross-section location
Dry weather flow map
Surface map
Surface
Measure map
Memory control
Table control
I suppose this has something to do with the way these layers are created?

This is probably also the reason for the errors you get when trying to add a new channel to a schematisation that does not contain any cross-section locations yet. Same for memory control etc.
