I'm more frequently being asked about cellular with the Raspberry Pi. The cellular hats that I'm aware of are all UART based. My limited experience with these is that they are not that enjoyable to use. If there's a reasonable USB-based cellular option, it would be nice to enable cellular by default so that it could work out-of-the-box.
If you're looking for cellular support on the Raspberry Pi and see this, could you reply to this issue with modem options that you're looking at? If it's easy for others to buy the modem too, then I think we should consider adding it to the official Raspberry Pi systems.
