[Bug]: nothing happening if I clic on "open local folder" (left to the "Q" button) #7821

Bug description

When I open my Nextcloud desktop menu (Windows 11), when I clic on "open local folder" (left to the "Q" button), nothing happening !

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open desktop client
  2. Go to "Open local folder"
  3. Clic on the small arrow to expect opening the folder in explorer
  4. .... nothing happening !

Expected behavior

Clicking on this button should open the local nextcloud folder !

Got 15 computers with same configuration, on somes it works, others it doesn't.

none

Windows

Windows 11

Package

Official Windows MSI

Nextcloud Server version

29.0.11

Nextcloud Desktop Client version

3.15.3

Is this bug present after an update or on a fresh install?

Updated from a minor version (ex. 3.4.2 to 3.4.4)

Are you using the Nextcloud Server Encryption module?

Encryption is Disabled

Are you using an external user-backend?

  • Default internal user-backend
  • LDAP/ Active Directory
  • SSO - SAML
  • Other

Additional info

It happened since Nextcloud Desktop 3.12.* , but not sure. This bug is for sure present since 3 majors upgrades of the client.

And if I directly double clic on the icon directly from the windows bar, it open my local folder :

Thanks for the screenshots! It helps a lot.
The issue is also present on mac OS, I just confirmed it.

Do you have multiple sync folders @julian70400?
I believe it has been fixed: #7730
Could you try the daily build: https://download.nextcloud.com/desktop/daily/windows/windows-20250204.msi?

Got only one sync folder.

I checked my log, got too theses lines :

2025-02-04 16:27:56:092 [ warning default qrc:/qml/src/gui/tray/MainWindow.qml:100 ]: qrc:/qml/src/gui/tray/MainWindow.qml:100: ReferenceError: appsMenu is not defined

For the daily build, on my way !

Wait, I got multiple shares ! Yes, and this version fix the bug, it works now !!

Thanks for confirming it!
The fix will be in 3.16.0. It will be out by the end of this month.
