As Mate 1.18 will be gtk3 only, a lot of 1.17.x packages dropped gtk2 support. So you can remove --with-gtk configure option in these packages, if you follow NEWS files.

mate makes it quite difficult to read the changelogs, due to having to download the whole xz and decompress it.. the server i am running the ./update.sh is resource and cpu limited (+ atm i am not using mate).

thanks for the report, i had read it back in 1.15, but had forgotten about it.

edit: also the damn website is down :/

edit2: made a script for fetching the news from github.
