i followed everything but when it came to opening the app, it failed to do so.

You didn't type anything.
You have to run it before it'll do anything.

You also need a graphics card that supports minimal vulkan and I'm seeing a laptop. GPUs with the lower end integrated graphics might not support enough of it.
