I'm running ChromeOS 57 on the Pixel 2015, and have installed directly CFW from the script.

When I try to run a Gnome app outside of Weston, I get this:

[fedora@localhost ~]$ gnome-calculator
(gnome-calculator:32683): Gdk-WARNING **: Wayland compositor does not support xdg_shell interface, not using Wayland display

(gnome-calculator:32683): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display:

Something I'm doing wrong, or a bug?

Hello, I've encountered this bug as well. It has to do with GTK+ version. You have to have latest GTK and GNOME app. That's why we are using F26 Alpha here.

Here are the related bugs:

https://mail.gnome.org/archives/commits-list/2016-February/msg06163.html
swaywm/sway#957
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=842001

On my machine, which uses F26 Alpha I have the following software versions:

[fedora@localhost ~]$ sudo dnf list installed | grep -E 'weston|gtk3|gnome-calculator'
gnome-calculator.x86_64 3.24.0-1.fc26 @updates-testing
gtk3.x86_64 3.22.12-2.fc26 @updates-testing
weston.x86_64 1.12.0-6.fc26 @updates-testing

Please let me know your versions, so we can see if this is the issue.

Cheers,
Nemanja

I can confirm that it didn't work before or after OpenOffice was installed.
