Doesn't Work on macOS Monterey Final release. #3
Comments
Oh interesting! It's working for me on 21A559 - I've been checking each beta, and haven't had any problems. Can you share a) the crash log (if possible), and b) your system configuration (mostly: OC version, CPU, GPU)? My guess is they've added some Metal rendering/optimisation that your GPU doesn't support? |
Here is the weird part, The Advanced3D maps now work out of the box to me. I have a Core i7 4790k and RX570 using OC 074 with iMacPro1,1 SMBios. Also have the unfairvga param set on the device props so DRM works. Its a little strange tho, first time i open the map app the 3D isn't available and after I fondle with it a little it gets enabled. Last time I was using this kext and it worked was in Beta 7 with iMac 16,2 SMBios |
Huh, super weird. If you can find the crash log that might give some clues, but I don't really know where to start in fixing it. I haven't ever worked out the actual minimum requirements - I think iGPUs don't work, but the minimum GPU is still unknown. Apple publish a "Metal Feature Set Tables" PDF, so probably it aligns to one of those. I might try to find some time this week to see if I can get 3d working out of the box too - having a pro desktop SMBIOS could definitely make sense. |
yup. Later i can test the kext again and get the KP logs to you. |
Here we go, I manage to capture the Verbose right before it reboots. Tell me if you want me to test anything. |
Tested it on the 21A559 build, and it crashes on boot. It worked until beta 7.
