The pictures above are mockups of the future version of Notes.

####Future features and ideas:

1.Folders. Nested folders (folders inside folders) are a powerful way to manage and organize your notes, and we are doing it in a beautiful way (see the pictures above). Also inside the folders view will be Trash where you can easily restore your deleted notes and folders.

2.Tags. Tags are a great way to label notes under a certain name across folders. You can view all your tags in the folders view and you can see the current tags you gave to a note in the editor.

3.Rich text with 3 styles. We want people to experience writing at it's best. We think these 3 types of writing style 'Modern', 'Classic' and 'Manuscript' will meet most of people needs and that people will appreciate that we chose for them the best fonts, colors etc, so they could focus on just writing.

  • When people will start typing the two of the sections at the top and bottom of the editor (where "+AW" and Modern (Sans)) will fade away leaving only the text. They will get restored each when hovering on each of them.
  • When selecting text, a bar will pop up above the text with formatting options: [bold, italic, link | big headline, small headline, quote | bullet list, ordered list] and we may want to include also [align left, align middle, align right].
  • On every new and empty line there will be a little circle near the line where you could press it to add images, video, and a new 'part'. (We will create a video mockup with all these and everything else)

4.The 'A' button (Which we may change to a different icon) will open a pop up with these options:

  • Increase/decrease font size
  • Toggle Focus Mode, which will let the user focus only on the current sentence and fade away other sentences (By Whitening/greying out their colors).
  • Toggle Typewriter Mode, which will make the current text appear always and only in the middle (like a typewriter).
  • Dark theme or Regular theme.

5.The 'W' button will toggle Writing Mode which will close the foldersView and the noteView and set the width and height of the windows and font size to create the best writing experience in a click of a button to let the user focus instantly on writing. We might want to also let the option of the two sections in the editor fade away when writing only in this mode. But I'm not quite sure about it, maybe it's good for both of the situations.

6.The 'clock' button will show you your note's history - it will open up a pop up with a draggable circle which we let you browse and see different versions of your note in different points of time and you could easily choose to restore a selected version.

7.The '3 dots button' will show these options:

  • Sort notes by
  • Find in note
  • View -> Right to left , Always on top (Not quite sure about these).
  • Publish
  • Import/export data -> Import data, Export data

8.A statics button in the bottom right of the note editor. Clickin on it will pop up info about the note like characters, words, sentences, paragraphs and average reading time.

Other things:

  • Collaboration.
  • 13.Encryption.
  • 14.Syncing.
