slides2 theme features (slide_title, presenters, subtitle) operational?

I am using current master, and I can't seem to get half the theme configuration to work correctly. Am I doing something wrong, or is slides2 semi-broken on current master which I am using?

• Even though I have a html_title string defined in conf.py, I always get the default "Title goes here up to two lines". This works, e.g., when using the single-level theme.
• I have specified slide_theme_options with presenters and subtitle entry, but both are nowhere displayed in my slides. (Note that I get a title page for every rst file I include, but no "end" slides as seems to be implied by the docs).
