Add buttons for changing due dates in the UI for creating or editing tasks #308

The buttons are a nice idea, thanks! I think about a calendar every once in a while. It would also show somehow which days already have a lot of tasks. However, I have no idea how easy or hard it would be to add a calendar pop up. It is unlikely I will add it soon, as my time is very limited, sorry. |

Completely agree. I was going to suggest that too and forgot...

Better than buttons would be an ability to select many tasks at a time
in edit mode and then change many dates in one go to a specific date
(same dialog box but with the description field greyed out)

what if you made the emoji for the due or other dates clickable and popped up a calendar like reminder plugin does for changing the date. |

Just to note that a Postpone button has recently been added to Tasks query results: https://publish.obsidian.md/tasks/Editing/Postponing This is just the start. More such affordances will be added over time, including adding something like this to the Edit Task modal. |

I have created an issue from this, so that I can track it in the backlog. Keep up-voting here though... |

I’m thinking of something similar to what we see in Todoist and other to-do list apps when changing due dates: we get suggestions for when we’re most likely going to change the due date to: today, tomorrow, next week, this weekend, or even postpone a recurring task to its next recurrence iykwim.
I almost always use the UI for creating/editing tasks, so I’m mostly using my mouse here. Currently, if I want to change the due date, I’d have to type it. Would be great to have buttons in the UI to change to those common dates rather than change from mouse to keyboard.
Additionally, maybe we could have a calendar in the UI as well for changing the due date to a specific date without having to type it. I think another task management plugin does this (Slated???). Not sure how doable this is though, and it might even be undesirable for a minimal UI, idk. Just some suggestions. Maybe have the buttons and calendar collapsible so that they’re out of the way when you don’t want them, or can be disabled from the settings.
Much thanks for this lovely plugin!
