No notifications from Android App anymore for expiring media

At some point the android app stopped creating notifications when media expire on at least two devices (Pixel 7 and 6a, Android 14). The app version is 6.4.14 and according to the app settings, the app does not send any notifications, so I cannot enable them there. When looking at the media at the account list, the soon to expire items are hightlighted with an orange bar, so the information is present in the app.
