Description
Getting in contact and working with OCM should be as simple as possible. Therefore complexity should be avoided wherever possible. Also as a team we need to focus on simplicity and maintainability of our code base.

Currently we support both component archives (CAs) and Common Transport Format (CTF) archives to locally work with component versions and their resources. Offering multiple archive versions for components raises complexity and therefore effort for both end users and maintainers. This is why we plan to continue with just CTF archives.

CAs will be announced as deprecated. The deprecation date will be set to 2025-12-31.
