i want to skip using builder tool and add a custom extension in collector binary

i want to skip using builder tool and add a custom extension (a server authenticator) in collector binary , are there any detailed steps available to make collector from scratch using makefile instead of using build tool (it seems like buildtool is not able to access private enterprise git repositories)
