We need to make sure we have a config file on the server that we can use, one option I can think of off the top of my head that future partners will probably love is to block redirecting connections. So their encryption layer is only running for their services. I'd imagine that FB for example wouldn't want a client redirecting requests for a client to check their mail through their servers, they just want the added security for their clients.
Feel free to discus other configuration options or the validity of the one proposed.
